Portugal is the closest European destination from Madrid and one of the busiest: students, families, retirees and professionals. The route is short, but neither volume nor access to central Lisbon or Porto should be improvised.

Distances and times

Madrid–Lisbon is about 630 km, Madrid–Porto 560 km and Madrid–Faro 700 km. These are one-day drives with comfortable stops on the A-5 and at Elvas or Vilar Formoso. Groupage adds waiting days; a dedicated truck can deliver in 24–48 hours.

Indicative prices

For 15–25 m³, the indicative range including VAT is €690–1,600 depending on volume, access and whether you share a truck. A student move can cost less; a full house with a piano or storage costs more. Refine it in the calculator.

Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve

In Lisbon, access to the historic centre and Alfama is narrow and requires permits. Porto's Ribeira and centre have slopes and pedestrian zones. In the Algarve, Faro and coastal towns see peak demand in spring and summer. We know the loading zones and adapt the vehicle.

Documents

Within the EU there is no customs for household goods. Carry ID or passport, a signed inventory and documents for minors or pets. Residency paperwork and tax numbers are separate from transport.

Ways to save

  • Reduce volume before moving.
  • Share a truck if you are not in a hurry.
  • Book early and avoid month-end.
  • Tell us about floors without a lift and long carries.
