Moving from Spain to another European country should not be improvised. The difference between a calm move and a week of chaos is planning: inventory, documents, dates and a company that answers.

1. Set your date and volume

Before asking for prices, estimate how many cubic metres you will move. A studio is around 10 m³, a one-bedroom flat about 20 m³ and a family home can exceed 50 m³. That figure matters more than the number of boxes.

2. Prepare the documents

Within the European Union you do not need customs for household goods. Still, carry your ID or passport, the signed inventory and, for Andorra, the relevant customs documents. Outside the EU the process changes completely.

3. Choose groupage or a dedicated truck

If you are not in a hurry, groupage saves 25–50%. If you need a specific date or carry delicate items, a dedicated truck offers more control.

4. Book access and permits

A large truck cannot park anywhere. In Madrid and many European capitals you need a loading bay reservation. Mention it before the quote to avoid hourly waiting charges.

5. Confirm the price in writing

The quote should detail volume, services, addresses, date, insurance and what happens if unexpected work appears. Be wary of fixed prices given by phone without an inventory.
