Germany attracts engineers, healthcare workers, students and families, and it is one of the destinations where paperwork and furniture need to be organised together. The physical move is only part of it: registration, insurance and the right address complete the relocation.

Before leaving Spain

Prepare ID or passport, work contract or enrolment, the inventory and documents for valuables. If you take a vehicle, check registration and insurance requirements. Within the EU there is no customs for household goods, but keep copies of everything.

On arrival: Anmeldung and insurance

Anmeldung is the municipal registration and usually the first step. You need your new address and often a form signed by the landlord. Then come the tax number, health insurance and, if employed, notification to your company. Requirements vary by city.

Routes and times

Madrid–Berlin is about 2,320 km and takes 2–4 days. Madrid–Munich is around 1,750 km, Frankfurt 1,700 km and Hamburg 2,100 km. On long routes we schedule stops and relief drivers if needed.

Indicative prices

For 15–25 m³, the range including VAT is €2,600–5,200. Larger loads lower the price per cubic metre but raise the total. The calculator gives an immediate reference.

Cities

Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Dresden, Hanover, Nuremberg and Bremen. See Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt, or all cities.

Practical tips

  • Reserve parking if the building has no loading zone.
  • German lifts are often small: measure large furniture.
  • Keep the inventory and photos of furniture condition.
  • If you arrive in winter, prepare for cold and rain during unloading.
